1. Meet with a member of our sales staff.
Call or email our office to schedule a free in-home consultation. You’ll be matched with the project manager that regularly works in your area. Weekend and evening appointments are available but limited, especially in the spring and summer months.
2. Sign and return contract with deposit.
Once you are satisfied with the design and layout of your fence, the next step is to sign the proposal and return it to our main office. You can email, snail mail, fax or hand deliver your contract, whichever option is most convenient for you.
Along with your contract we also need:
- A 50 percent deposit (we take cash, personal check)
- A signed consumer rights acknowledgement form
- A completed Sales Slip .
3. Obtain your permit.
Apply for a fence permit from your local town building department or, if you live in an unincorporated area, from your local county building department. We suggest applying for your fence permit as early as possible. It may take up to two weeks to obtain. Please notify us if any part of the contract is not approved. Also, be sure to obtain a permit or approval from your neighborhood or homeowner association (covenants and restrictions) prior to scheduling if applicable. You will need a copy of your plat of survey to obtain your permit.
4. Scheduling installation.
When we receive all of the above forms and payment, your project will be processed and ordered. Typical lead time for materials ranges anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks depending on material type and availability. Once your materials have arrived, Don in our scheduling department will call you to schedule installation.
If you have any scheduling concerns or questions, please call us between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday.
5. Prepare the job site.
We will call Dig Rite to locate public utilities in your yard prior to installation. If you have private utilities such as a sprinkler system, invisible fence, sump pump lines or landscape lighting, it is your responsibility to have those marked by a private locating company. Please do not move or tamper with the flags or markings in your yard until installation is complete.
Additionally, all shrubs, plants, trees, etc… must be cleared from the installation area prior to the fence crew’s arrival. Our crews should not have to move any plants or debris before installing.
On the first morning of construction, it is necessary that you are home. A foreman will set string and ask you to approve the layout. Posts are installed to the inside of the string line.
After completion, the foreman will walk you around the fence line to take care of any concerns you may have. They will collect the final balance due at this time.
Although every attempt is made to install your fence on the scheduled date, it is important to note that all scheduling dates are subjects to weather conditions. Our scheduling department will contact you if weather becomes a problem.
